Who am I?
I’m a fourth-generation local business owner who has always seen the potential in this town. Starting in 2008 I served on the board for the local chapter of Mental Health America and the city’s Zoning Board of Appeals. I continue that service today with the city’s Planning Commission and Byerly Foundation. My service has always been voluntary. I’m not a political guy, I’m a Hartsville guy.
I am also a cofounder of Wild Heart Brewing Company, where we employ 49 people. I am invested in Hartsville’s growth and progress, and am ready to take my service to the next level.
Why am I running?
We’ve come too far over the last decade to stop progressing forward. More importantly, progressing forward—together. I love my hometown, but I am also aware of its flaws. There are hurdles we need to cross, and I believe I’m the best one to help push us forward.
I’m running to help heal and unite the “two Hartsvilles,” starting by filling in the Ninth Street ditch. I want to continue to invest in small businesses that create local jobs and get to work upgrading the City’s infrastructure—water, sewer, and stormwater systems.
Why should you vote for me?
Simply put: I’m invested in this town, and I’m not going anywhere. My ambition as mayor isn’t to be self-serving or use this platform as a stepping stone. I want to hear from you, get to know you, and serve you. My service on various City commissions, boards, and committees has taught me how our City works. I’m ready to continue my service.
Together, we can continue to make Hartsville a place where all people can live, thrive, and grow.
